Fans camp out for Bon Jovi |

The Sarnia Observer article
Kim Delaney spent more than $1,000 to see Bon Jovi perform at Bayfest – and that’s just the beginning.
Delaney, who lives in a small town on Newfoundland’s west coast, gladly covered the $600 air fare and the $100-plus hotel room to see her favourite band. And she has tickets for the group’s Detroit show on Monday.
“People back home call me crazy, but they just don’t understand,” she said.
But outside the Front Street gate entrance, Delaney’s among the converted.
She and her friend from Mississauga arrived in Sarnia around 9 p.m. Saturday night, and there was already a handful of devoted fans camped out beside the steel, blue fence.
“At least my friends will know there’s more people out there like me,” she said.
Some of those people are Laura Baker and Ashleigh Grieves from Sarnia, and their friend Stacie Elford of Windsor, who began the lineup at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
The three women decided they would be the first ones in the park when they originally heard in March that Bon Jovi was scheduled to play the festival.
