Rock star Jon Bon Jovi is Sayreville New Jersey’s Favorite Son. Though the people’s rock star has long since moved to tonier digs of the rich and famous, the stomping grounds where he was raised and the seeds of rock were sown is never out of his heart.
In the shocking aftermath of Storm of the Century Hurricane Sandy, Bon Jovi proved you can go home again, if for no other reason than to share in the shocking grief, shed communal tears and provide a leather-scented shoulder and loving hug to complete neighbors past and present.
The ageless rocker---his chin uncharasterically unshaven and showing the shadow of a goatee---walked with residents as they surveyed homes ripped from their foundations as though they were Monopoly properties, and the shattered shards of countless homes and buildings seemingly imploded from within.
