"Rock's Jovial Cowboy Rides High In the RDS Arena" 12 June 2001
Dublin Show Review from Irish Independent

Source: Irish Independent

WITH a woolly reggae hat plonked on his head, Jon Bon Jovi bellowed out that he was a cowboy, on a steel horse he rides, and he's wanted, Dead or Alive.

He knows his audience.

The New Jersey rockers were safe in the knowledge that they were right and 30,000 Irish fans lapped it up in Dublin last night.

The RDS showjumping arena was fitted with glass awnings to protect the band from a repeat of the storm which made last summer's Dublin concert so unforgettable.

Bon Jovi gave Dublin their all although the sound system faltered sporadically making it difficult to hear sometimes.

For two-and-a-half hours they rocked through tracks from their eighties mega-sellers Slippery When Wet and New Jersey.

But judging by the young crowd waving Irish and American flags, many are new recruits attracted by their most recent album Crush.
