And Bon Jovi too! Tomorrow night!
Veteran rock act Kiss is the latest addition to the lengthy list of performers set to take part in the closing ceremonies of the Olympic Winter Games. The gala extravaganza will take place Sunday night (Feb. 24) at Salt Lake City's Rice-Eccles Olympic Stadium, and will be broadcast live on NBC.
Kiss is set to perform its 1976 hit "Rock and Roll All Nite" during the ceremony, which as previously reported, will also boast performances by Gloria Estefan, Christina Aguilera, Bon Jovi, Harry Connick, Jr., Charlotte Church, Earth Wind & Fire, Josh Groban, and Dianne Reeves. The spectacle will also feature tap dancer Savion Glover and veteran Olympic skaters Dorothy Hamill, Scott Hamilton, Kristi Yamaguchi, Katarina Witt, Renee Roca, Gorsha Sur, and Ilia Kulik.
This year's Winter Olympics have been heavy on musical talent, starting with a lavish opening ceremony that featured R. Kelly, LeAnn Rimes, Sting and Yo Yo Ma, John Williams, Rita Coolidge & Walela, the Dixie Chicks, Keith Lockhart and the Utah Symphony, and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. In addition, the Hallmark Olympic Celebration series of nightly concerts in the Olympic Medals Plaza, has presented the likes of Nelly Furtado, the Dave Matthews Band, Sheryl Crow, the Barenaked Ladies, and Macy Gray, with performance highlights televised on NBC's "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" and the following day's "Today" morning show.
