| "Slippery When Wet" Review |

Not one of my favourites but still a classic..
I can imagine that many of you will disagree with me on this review, but I don't think all in all that "Slippery When Wet" is such a great album. Of course the songs "Livin' On a Prayer", "Wanted Dead Or Alive" and "You Give Love A Bad Name" are excellent classics that I always will love. But it's not their best...
As always, track by track we go.. :)
Let It Rock - 8/10:
A pretty decent rock song with the classical 80's sound. A good opening track..
You Give Love A Bad Name - 10/10:
Commenting on this one is hardly necessary since we all how great it is by now!
Living On A Prayer - 11/10:
The most famous song ever that Bon Jovi have written. Immortal classic.. :)
Social Disease - 4/10:
Now this is a filler. The intro is...hmm...well, at least special! This is to me just standard rock and more or less without heart and soul. I don't think the guys considered this song to be that special either, but hey, that's just what I think..
Wanted Dead Or Alive - 10/10:
As we all know, an instant classic where comments are not needed!
Raise Your Hands - 7.5/10:
The hardest song on this album. Pretty good and if I'm not mistaken also used in a car-movie from the 80's. Anyway, despite it's very hard-rocking nature and great vocals it doesn't do anything for me. If I were to explain it with just one single word it'd be "standardized"..
Without Love - 9/10:
I was a bit surprised that this song became less popular than "Never Say Goodbye", since I find this to be a really great ballad and better than the one mentioned. A really great atmosphere of love and teenage love!
I'd Die For You - 8/10:
This is however one song I LOVE to hear live, but on the album it sounds a little thin. The vocals are somewhat superficial but the music rocks. All in all a great rock song!
Never Say Goodbye - 8.5/10:
As I said, I like "Without Love" better than this one. Don't get me wrong, this song is great and very emotional. I guess it's just a matter of personal taste..
Wild In The Streets - 9/10:
One of the songs I didn't like for years. I went to the concert in Stockholm in -95 and when they broke into this song I went: "what's this? Wild in the streets?!? It's excellent!!" And since then I've loved this song...
So as you see, despite that I like most of the songs on this album there's some of them I like a little less.. All in all I give it an 8.
