Why?

A review by Fredrik / fredrik@jovimail.com

I know this isn't supposed to be a message board, but I still can't help but feel that recent reviews have been more about Jons hair and their commercial status. I just wonder what those things have to do with the music on the album. If you'd ask me I'd say nothing. Whether or not they have gone commersial or not (I dislike that word) is really of no relevance. I personally don't think that they have done that, cause I think they do what they always have done. Write the kind of music THEY want and if other people wont like it, well that's not their problem. I respect that other people don't like "Crush", but putting it down by various comments are just plain stupid. That one about Jons hair was probably the most ridicoulus thing I've heard in my life so far. Sure, Crush is quite different from previous Bon Jovi albums. But ain't that just they way things are supposed to be? I mean, do you people (who wants them to make another Slippery) can sing about High School proms, teenage love and all that stuff at the age around 40? Hmm, I don't think so...
And its the same with the music. As you grow older you want to make something new and innovative instead of standing around at the same place doing the very same thing. Bon Jovi have stood the test of time just because they continue to do new things. If they would have kept on like they did in the 80's in this day and time, I'm 100% convinced that the band wouldn't exist today. But they do, and they are stronger than ever!

Keep the faith everybody!
