"Crossroad" Review 20 March 2002
Powerful

A review by Lisa / emerald_246@hotmail.com

Wow. I can't say enough about Bon Jovi. I'm a 13 year old girl, and most of my friends' music is rap and punk. I've never really liked that kind of music at all. Luckily, my dad has always been introducing my older brother and I to old 80s rock, which is what we both love to death. He started with of course, Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin, The Doors, and almost every other good band you can think of. Then, my dad said Bon Jovi. I was like, what?

So, my brother bought Crossroads. All I remember was cleaning up my room when I heard, "You Give Love A Bad Name" blaring from his room. I thought, what a cool song. I made him play it over again and I fell in love with it. I took Crossroads and played "You Give Love A Bad Name" until my parents made me turn it off. I decided to check out the rest of the CD, starting with "Livin On A Prayer." I thought it too was amazing. The lyrics were perfect. I slowly listened to the rest of the CD ( never forgetting about "You Give Love A Bad Name" ) and found my favourite, which would be all of them. Loving this Bon Jovi CD, I took it to school on my discman. Now, when my friends asked me what I was listening to and my reply was Bon Jovi, they had strange responses like, "Ew!" and "You listen to that crap?" and "Lisa listens to music from the 1800's!" I tried and tried and tried to get them to listen, but it was no use. Then, in music class we got to bring in CD's to play for the whole afternoon. I thought this was perfect. I brought Crossroads, Keep The Faith, and Crush ( the only Bon Jovi CD's I had at the time after falling in love with "Blame It On The Love of Rock N Roll" "In These Arms" and "It's My Life" ) Luckily, I was the only one with a CD, and played all my favourites. Everyone was like, "Wow, that was really good music!" Now, I've got almost everyone into Bon Jovi. My love for their music is always growing and I'm slowly getting all of their CD's.

( unfortunatly my bank account has no money in it and I am finding myself doing everything I can around the house to get enough money to add to my collection of Bon Jovi CD's ) I have to say, "You Give Love A Bad Name" will always be my favourite. It's what turned me on to Bon Jovi in the first place. Crossroads will always be my favourite because it has all their best songs on it. All I have to say is with all the Britney Spears, Korn, Nelly, and Blink 182 out there, Bon Jovi is what I really needed. Thank God for their music! It is so powerful my rapping, punk rocker friends have changed their views on rock forever.
