13 July 2001 - Chicago, IL, USA Concert Review 17 July 2001
One Failed Night

A review by Joe / dans2031@yahoo.com

Man oh man, this BJ concert had to be the worst ever. From beginning to end. I thought BJ would rock (cause they usually do), but this was by far the worst I've ever seen them. Not only did they play a horrible song selection, but what is the deal with them dragging out songs like Keep the Faith and Lay Your Hands on Me? Do I really need to hear a 7min+ rendition of those songs? I think not. Jon you're not an Indian, stop babbling like one during Keep the Faith. Why oh why would you open the show with One Wild Night when you have songs like "I Believe" or Hey God? Bon Jovi continued to irritate me even more that night by letting Richie Sambora sing one of his solo songs, Stranger in this Town. More like Stranger to airplay. Richie, get a clue, no one wants to hear your solo stuff at a BJ show. Who cares if it's your Birthday?!?!? all I can say is that one week prior to this show, I saw Poison & Warrant and they totally blew Bon Jovi away. Great song selection, bigger stage and pyro!! Maybe BJ should take notes? I think so.

Disappointed in Chicago.
