8 December 2002 - Melbourne, Australia Concert Review 10 December 2002
Bouncing in for a short set.

A review by Steven / steventm7@hotmail.com

Rumba...well there’s lots to be said about rumba, frankly I wouldn't say the word, or even step foot inside the event.
But boy, when I heard Bon Jovi were going to be there, the word rumba seemed to slip off the tongue real easy.

I wasn't lucky enough to be able to get down on the ground level up close to the stage, my vantage point was from the stand, but still it was good enough.

Before the boys took the stage, i waited outside a radio station stage setup within the arena, BJ were due there before their gig. I watched and took lots of photos of the radio interview and also managed to get a quick handshake from jon. - that just made my day bigtime!

As for the show, well what can I say... they pumped out the tunes nicely and gave us a good quick mix of some old and some new songs. All of which I was pleased with, as I'm sure everyone else there was.
I wont bother saying that they rocked and were absolutely fantastic, because everyone else has already said that. :P I'll just say that they blew the roof off the stadium.
During acts, the video messages would mention who's up soon, and every time bon jovi was mentioned the stadium erupted, seriously...it was clear 90% of the people there were wanting to see bon jovi, and none of the minor acts - which were not great, but ok - shaggy was very entertaining, as was pink.

Their performance was great, short, but great. I was dancing in my seat as was everyone else. The boys and shaggy were the only ones to get people in the stands moving. I loved their performance and really enjoyed myself whilst they were playing, can't say that for any of the other acts.

And then they finish, all of a sudden and off they go. To my surprise they actually did go, i was sooo waiting for them to come back on after shout.
Dam those rumba organisers!

Oh well...it was a show, and a show we were all lucky to see. I hope they come back for an official tour, as I’m sure you all hope too out there in australia.
