21 February 2003 - Montreal, Quebec, Canada Concert Review 24 February 2003
Jon wore my hat!!

A review by GioviRose / vered_sparkle@hotmail.com

Wow, Friday's show in Montreal was absolutely fantastic. I have been to many concerts in many cities (many of which were Bon Jovi concerts) but this one takes the cake- it was phenomenal!!

I had 5th row seats on the floor and by the end of the night made it to the stage. There was nothing between me and Bon Jovi except a railing and I was ecstatic!!
During the first encore (right after Damned) I decided to throw Jon my hat. I love that hat (it's a Micheal Jackson/JLo type of hat)and I bought it when I was backpacking through Australia, but I figured if there's one way to lose my hat...this is it!! So, as the lights dimmed I threw my hat and aimed at Jon. When the lights came back on, there was just a spotlight on Jon and he saw the hat from the corner of his eye. He picked it up as the song started and put it on his head!!! He did a funny little turn with it on as he grinned in a way only jon can. Then threw it back to the audience (I caught it again, thank God!) How amazing is that????? The only thing I regret is not having any pictures of that moment, because I was too in awe to look down at my camera! (If anyone has a picture of that- PLEASE!!! send me a copy!!)

Other than that, the show was really great. I could hear what the guys were saying even off mic. Jon just kept saying "Oh my goodness" and blocking his ears because the cheer at the end of the night was just deafning. David said "Jon man, we have to go, what should we do?". Richie and Jon looked at eachother and grinned, and then Jon motionned for the stage hands to give him back his guitar. The place went Craaaazy! Even after all that, the crowd was even louder than before, so as a 'present' Jon said, "You're awesome Montreal, we'll be back this summer in July!". Just when we all thought the crowd couldn't get any louder, it did.

The reason this was the best Bon Jovi concert for me was because I was actually close enough to hear what they were saying, and they were just as impressed and excited and we all were. I think Bon Jovi is a timeless band and their concerts prove that time and time again.

Can't wait for July!!!
