9 March 2003 - Washington, D.C, USA Concert Review 11 March 2003
DC was a dissapointment

A review by RichiesF'nSweetT-shirt / JAllard3@aol.com

What a shame. I have been to several Bon Jovi shows over the past few years. Of all the shows, this was the most dissapointing. I was at the show in Philly on Friday and there was no comparison. That show was longer....and the CROWD WAS ACTUALLY INTO THE SHOW!!! DC fans can never seem to sustain any kind of energy. If anyone is wondering why the show was shorter than others on this tour....they can look in the mirror. The band was great, as always, and my seats were fantastic. If the fans would simply have a little energy it would have been the great night that the other reviewers have described. For people who have seen shows in Jersey or Philly...how many times have you seen people sitting on their hands during a Jovi show?? Come to DC, you'll see thousands. And lastly, Jon's decision to put on a Gore t-shirt. Is was a mistake and a sad sight. The politics of it is meaningless. Republican or democrat the goal of the band has always been to be a respite from the everyday life that we all go through. To politicize a show where he beautifully acknowledged the troops in the middle east was sad to me. I still love the band and the music, but if we are going to get political I will have to send the Jersey boys the same place I did Pearl Jam when they decided that concerts were a good place to make a political stand, my cd player instead of the concert arena. I will see the boys at Veterans Stadium and Giants Stadium....I know those fans will at least get off their hands.
