14 March 2003 - Fort Lauderdale, FL, USA Concert Review 18 March 2003
UTTERLY AMAZING

A review by ADAM JASON / adamj1975@yahoo.com

The last time I saw Bon Jovi was March 18, 1993 @ the Miami Arena. (That following summer I went to college in Alabama and was never able to see them since they never came to Birmingham) I was blown away then, but Friday night topped that performance by far. I waited 10 years for this show, paid a small fortune for tickets and was definitely not disappointed. The band sounded great, looked great, and played every song you could possibly want to hear. The highlights for me were definitely Richie singing "I'll Be There For You", and "Right Side of Wrong." Dave's intro, and the background video made that performance amazing! Also, I was weary of them playing "Wanted" so early in the set but it fit perfectly (It was great having the crowd singing the first part of the song!) I was definitley watching legends at work. This performance solidified the fact that it's about damn time that the media show this band some respect! People half their age can't write or perform like this! Bon Jovi has done one thing that not many bands (especially today) can do. BE TIMELESS!!! That alone should have snagged them the 2 grammys they were nomminated for. Hell they've got more "Bling, Bling" than most of the perpetrating hip-hoppers out there if that matters. It's about time we see some heavy airplay and video play by all the networks. Stop trying to be cool and not acknowledge the entity that is Bon Jovi! If you don't believe, open your mind (and heart) and go see this band live! You will be converted in Jon's church of rock and roll. (I'm stepping off my soapbox now)

I'm out like Mariah Carey's sanity
