DC issues
I believe that the DC crowd was less enthusiastic than others I shared concerts with. However, I feel the setlist is partly responsible for the lack of enthusiasm. It would be great if everyone at every concert was a hard core fan exposed to all of the band's albums, but that is just not the case. There are always going to be large amnounts of people waiting for prayer and bad name and wanted, ect..., and that those are the only songs they are going to be able to get really into, because those are the only songs that they know the lyrics to. Playing prayer, bad name, and wanted within the
first 7 or 8 songs takes those fans out of the concert. When I saw BJ in jersey in February, they ended with wanted, and it was an amazing, end to and amazing concert. Taking wanted out of the encore, and inserting a politically appropriate COVER song is no way to keep from sitting on their hands instead of raising them. |
