20 June 2003 - Dublin, Ireland Concert Review 22 June 2003
Good Show

A review by Shane / mhcvf@hotmail.com

I enjoyed this show quite a bit.
The weather was very nice and the sun was beating down.
The guys came on stage at 8pm on the dot and put on a really thorough show.
The setlist was fantastic;alot of the classics mixed in with the new stuff.
Really came out of the blocks with the classics.
The best received songs were :
Keep the Faith
In These Arms
It's My Life
Someday I'll Be Saturday Night
Born To Be My Baby
I'll Sleep When I'm Dead
Raise Your Hands (Class)
Actually nearly evry song was a massive crowd pleaser bar Diamond Ring which frankly stunk.
The stage looked really cool but because it doesnt get dark in Ireland until 10.30pm alot of the effects were lost.
The band put an awful lot of commitment and energy into the show but unfortunately the sound was really poor.
The volume of Jon was too low and the instruments sounded very crude.
I think this is due to the venue as the sound is notoriously bad at Lansdowne road.
I also thought the pitch crowd were a bit lifeless.
They only seemed to come alive in the last hour.
Probably not enough die hard fans.
Summing up though apart from those negatives (which frankly are outside the bands control ) it was another top class concert.
People who knock Bon Jovi are either fools or liars.
They are the best at what they do.
Stadium rock at its best.
Long may they continue to tour.
