22 June 2003 - Glasgow, Scotland, UK Concert Review 27 June 2003
GREAT CONCERT/WRONG VENUE

A review by chris / chris_bodie@hotmail.com

the concert at ibrox was, as expected, excellent, the band were great and there were a number of great highlights about the night, wanted dead or alive, raise ur hands, sleep when im dead, david bryans superb solos and most of all richie singing i'll be there for u. The stage was also great with a huge number of different lights and six sreens all moving around, it all contributed to a great nite.
when it comes to critisism i cant really fault the band, though i would hav liked to hear some songs from these days. The only thing i would critisise would be the stadium and how the event was run, upon arrival at the stadium there were a number of signs directing traffic to a car park, but when we got there we were refushed entry as it was a car park for permit holders only, a bon jovi concert at a 50,000 capacity stadium, fans were there from all over the country, did they honestly expect us all to have a permit for the ibrox car park! we then joined the queue at the turnstiles, the tickets said gates would open at 5, but it was 5:40 before the turnstiles were opened and then the queues began to move down, except the one we were in, as everyone else entered the stadium we were stuck in a queue goining nowhere with no explanation as to why, eventually we had to leave the queue and join the end of another one, which was a bit annoying since we had queued for a while. when we got to the entrance we had our bags search and bottles of water removed, which is fair enough if thats the rules but once we were inside we saw a number of people with bottles and cans of coke, its one thing to have rules but they should be for everyone.
that aside it was a great nite, there are few bands out there that are on stage for two and a half hours. Hopefully there are more albums and tours to come from bon jovi, and hopefully they will come back to scotland, but if they do hampden would be a much better choice of venue.
