15 July 2003 - Minneapolis, MN, USA Concert Review 17 July 2003
Minneapolis definitely deserved this Special Night

A review by Chris Kamesch / Crkamesch@yahoo.com

Hard to say something about this show without getting chills. I knew the second the guys were setting up the stage that something special was about to take place. Jon was on the radio talking to some local radio station on Friday saying that the fans in St. Paul in february were so crazy and out of control with the band that they felt like they needed to do something to satisfy us even more. Well they sure did. From the piano starting up on the acoustic set to Jon and Richie just walking out to their chairs with their fists in the air, they knew as we did that this was going to be a long night. The first hour of the show was great, doing all acoustic set and Jon talking about all the songs, and a few of them with where and why they were written. Bed of Roses he gave his all, you could see on the big screen. Wanted gave the band chills too with the entire Target Center in sync, singing the first verse. Watching Richie do I'll Be there for you while sitting and Jon playing guitar and happily not singing back up was so damn much fun and probably the most noise I heard from the Target Center all night and my personal favorite part of the show. Once they finished that set, I was half expecting them to take a 5 minute change of clothes and then start up again. No way! Time to plug in these guitars and BOOM....welcome to part 2 of the show. Tico had his bass drum pumping and I knew it was lay your hands on me. I had my hands up the entire night and I swear I was one step ahead of the crowd. Watching Jon signal to Hugh and Dave about doing' "faith" which I was sure wasn't in the set. I knew immediately when It's my life was starting by Tico drum count. They ended the show with Shout, the 10 minute version with slowly introducing the entire band to cheers and music. The only thing I would've like to seen was more from Bounce, and more from Bounce electric. They only did 2 songs from the new CD and they were both acoustic. I missed Undivided cause the band puts their heart into it, and I love hearing Bounce live. Jon didn't change at all staying in the same clothes the entire night, and only leaving the stage 2 times all night. I can't say anything more. If you are a fan of the band who saw this show email me and we can talk. If you are not schedule to be one of the lucky ones to witness this masterpiece of a show, I feel so bad for you cause it was the concert tour of the year I can promise you that. Long live Bon Jovi. Thanks guys
