7 August 2003 - E. Rutherford, NJ, USA Concert Review 8 August 2003
Dancing In The Rain

A review by Cathy / livergirl98@yahoo.com

What can be said about Thursday night's show at Giants Stadium except...It was sooooo much fun! Band and audience alike were there to rock and there was over two hours of bootie shaking, foot stomping, singing and dancing.

The clouds opened, the rain came down and no one was complaining.

The band sounded great and were highly amused by the downpour. Jon was the consumate front man as always and he really worked the stage well, despite the obvious very wet surface. Richie was laughing alot about the rain and his playing was simply brilliant. That man is just so damn good! David and Tico were somewhat "safer" undercover and they both rocked on down, the Hitman playing like the animal he is and David note perfect, having a fabulous time. Hugh was very cool just cruising the stage.

It was great to hear "I Die For You", I have not heard that song live in a very long time. "Bed Of Roses" was a nice change and hey, a marriage proposal for one emotional woman on stage was a nice bonus!

The band gave their all and the audience responded. This band is all class and no matter the weather conditions, they know how to deliver the performance goods. They rarely miss a beat and last night proved again why Jovi have been amongst us for the past twenty years.

Looking forward to Part Two Giants Stadium tonight!

PS: Very impressed with Jason Mraz. Great funky sound, good voice and a laid back approach, which I think worked in his favour in regards to the audience.
