Hometown Opinion
Giants Stadium. Anyone who comes from New York, New Jersey, or Pennsylvannia knows that those two words need no further explanation. Being from New York and having gone through the loss of 9/11 I gained a certain further appreciation for what was and new respect for what is. I attended both Thursday August 7th and Friday August 8th to see the band I have loved for 20 years. I have seen them 12 times in 20 years, and each time has been well worth it. With certain athletes and entertainers building their reputations only to let us down all too often, Friday's show proved an amazing thing, Jon Bon Jovi is as real as it gets and that is why we cling to the man and his music. He moves us. Driving to the stadium and not seeing the Towers from the NJ Turnpike still leaves me hollow, but on this amazing Friday night, watching Jon dance with Richie's daughter and then speak so eloquently about what the stadium and home means to him, well, that filled the void for me. Thanks, and we will see you boys in 2005.
