STILL ROCKIN AFTER ALL THESE YEARS
For a band known for their high energy and long shows, Bon Jovi definitely delivered in Des Moines....for the most part. (I must admit that I expected the show to be a little longer, especially considering it was the kickoff)
The guys delivered a great mix of the old and the new...from the timeless Livin On A Prayer, Wanted Dead or Alive, and Bad Medicine to the soon to be new classics of Have a Nice Day and Last Cigarette. I must say, however, I was a little disappointed they did not do more from the new album that they are actually promoting (for example, Welcome to Wherever You Are is also a great cut)
The acoustic set in the middle of the show was a great change of pace.....Jon did great with Someday I'll be Saturday Night!!!!!!! Best performance of the show in my opinion. However, like most in attendance, I was not impressed with the "This Left Feels Right" acoustic version of Lay Your Hands On Me. I think I speak for most when I say it was almost unrecognizable.
Aside from that, the show was AWESOME!!!!! Definitely looking forward to the next time the boys from Jersey head back to Iowa!
