5 November 2005 - Chicago, IL, USA Concert Review 8 November 2005
Waited 20 years...

A review by Tami / springer.8@nd.edu

My husband and I saw Bon Jovi for the first time after being fans for 20 years. I was overwhelmed to tears for the first four songs, which included "You Give Love a Bad Name," one of my faves. Once I got a grip on myself and wiped away the tears, I continued to worship Jon and the boys from afar. My husband thought it was funny, cuz he's a big fan too. Jon is my husband's age, 43, and I'm 45. There were other fans our age and older, as well as lots of skanky women who looked like prostitutes! Anyway, it was awesome, except that the sound was not as clear as it could be. Van Halen was much more clear and crisp in this same venue, the United Center in Chicago. I had trouble understanding Jon's words when he talked and Richie's guitar was not quite clear. Jon's singing was very good, not strained or hoarse at all, as I had expected. There were songs from the new album (about 5?) although not my favorite, Wildflower. But overall, a great time and a dream come true! Gotta love JBJ.
