Kiss said it best "you got to lose your mind in detroit ROCK CITY". Friday night was no exception for Bon Jovi in Motown. The set from the start was pretty much the same as the other shows which was not a let down by no means. But then they threw in songs like Novicane and Undivided, which I believe was the first time they've played them on this tour and they were great. A combo of 3 songs stole the show Raise your hands,Bad Medicine and livin on a prayer those songs completely blew the roof of the Palace. Bad Medicine and Prayer never get old to watch live in concert and the 20 thousand strong were all standing and singing along with hands in the air. The excitement level was at a fever pitch. The stage setup was'nt as big as some of the previous tours but it did'nt need to be. Bon Jovi prooved that even on a somewhat stripped down stage their still one of the best LIVE acts EVER. I've seen over 120+ concerts from Pink Floyd to Metallica and still seem to have the most fun at a Bon Jovi show. I seen some of the complaints about wanting to hear the original versions of Always, Blaze of Glory and I'll bet there for you, and I can agree on some level, but Bon Jovi are very talented musicians and love to experiment with their songs. If you are a true fan (no offense to people who just flat out want the originals) you'll appreciate the work they put forth to give you the fans a different take on some of thier classics. In closing the band was as tight as always and right on point all night long. Two thumbs errr four thumbs (I'm gonna go ahead and raise your's for you) up the show was AWESOME. And once again i was with someone who has never seen them and that person said it was the best show they have ever seen period!(that happens every time Bon Jovi plays) Detroit ROCK CITY was for the night BON JOVI ROCK CITY! peace people....
