18 January 2006 - Charlotte, NC, USA Concert Review 22 January 2006
Turn it up!

A review by Alan

Overall it was a great show. Wish the volume was a little louder; we had three 40 something-year-old ladies behind us screaming and singing as loud as they could (nothing against 40 something-year-olds; I'm one) but at times we could not even hear Jon singing (seriously). We saw Aerosmith the week prior and even with everyone singing during "Dream On" you could still hear Steven Tyler.
Also, would have preferred Jon on the main stage for the opening song; his vocals were very low on "Last Man Standing"; not sure if it was because he was transmitting from the rear of the arena; when he made his way to the main stage he did ask, "can you hear me now?", so maybe something was wrong with his mike. I also felt the band looked sort of silly on the main stage without him.
With so few R-N-R bands still together and touring I'm thankful bands like Aerosmith and Bon Jovi are still out on the road.
