10 June 2006 - Milton Keynes, UK Concert Review 12 June 2006
Never too old...

A review by London_Fan

What an amazing night. Having been at Hyde Park and Wembley before I was a bit worried about the MK Bowl and what it would be like, organisation was pretty poor and difficult to find anyone who knew what was going on. The VIP hospitality was a joke (said backstage on the passes but that was just a lie) and everything was typically overpriced. So how is it that I had one of the best days ever?

Well it started with the anticipation of seeing of Bon Jovi again and ended with the knowledge that i'd just seen a phenonemenal gig. I'm a huge fan but felt that even by Bon Jovi standards Saturday night was special. Spin and Nickleback were both pretty good and the latter really got the crowd going. From the moment Last Man Standing came on to the moment they walked off after Keep The Faith no-one around me stopped singing, dancing and in a few cases crying!

We managed to get three or four rows from the front of the inner gold circle and could see every move, expression, bead of sweat, smile and discussion that the guys had on stage. They seemed to be smiling and laughing, relaxing and enjoying themselves. The classics were fantasting and the new stuff really added to the set list, the new songs are great for concerts and the crowd really got into them all. Richie was fantastic as usual and he got some of the biggest cheers of the night. There were some real unexpected surprises too including Living in Sin and In These Arms which it were great to see live, after all these years they can still surprise us performing stuff you'd never expect!

It all ended too soon and all the way home the talk was of will they/won't they be the ones to open Wembley next year...here's hoping they will be because you have to believe that will be one of the few things that will even top this year.
