28 June 2008 - London, United Kingdom Concert Review 29 June 2008
Wow what a party tonight

A review by Carl / one_wild_carl@hotmail.co.uk

Where do I start with such a fantastic night, got there around 2.30pm I think it was after being held up badly on the M25. Quickly met up with Melissa and Suey in the fan club line. Also much to my delight was my old friend Yvonne who was there, after not finding her on the past couple shows I went to, I was very happy to find her this time, also had the pleasure of meeting a few of her friends, Carli, Paul, Kev and couple others I can't remember of my head now.

First act came on quite soon but after a bright start they just seemed to fade off, it was a relief they were not on for long. Next up were The Feeling and one thing i've learned about most of their songs, they sound pretty much the same. In fact me and Yvonne spent half the time going up to the bar for a drink just to make the time go faster before the boys from New Jersey came on.

Just before bon jovi came on me and Yvonne joined the rest of the party made up of Melissa, Suey, Maryann along with another group next to them intent on having one big party, I do remember one girls name called Dawn, can't remember the rest the names though sorry girls hehe.

At 8pm the lights dimmed and out came the rock gods intent on making it a night to remember as it was the last show on the European tour and the part kicked off as soon as the band launched into rockin all over the world, I don't think i'd ever jumped up and down before through all the following songs, usual one's consisting off, Lost Highway, Born to be my baby, You Give Love a bad name. Then we had a nice suprise of the band doing a quick cover of Queen's we will rock you before going into Summertime. I notice in the setlist it says Blood on Blood was played but I honestly can't remember that being played.

Later on in the show we had another nice suprise with I Believe being played, never had the chance to hear that live before and they had never done it so far this tour so that was cool, but no Hey god sadly.

Richie again did a super version of I'll be there for you, in a way it's a sad song to me personally for reasons I don't want to go into, so part of me didn't want to hear it tonight, but at the same time it does make a lot of sense to me the song.

Only negative is that I wish they would drop shout, it's really getting boring now, they finished off with Livin on a prayer which the whole stadium stood up and sung, it was fantastic. Then we had an encore again we got Always, this time Wanted did not close the show out. As they did Saturday Night after then I love this town before finishing with Twist and Shout.

Overall a brilliant night, certainly the best party I had, cheers girls you all made it worth while.

I just got back in I absolutely ache everywhere after so much jumping and singing around, I have no voice and I think i've buggered me knee up, but the pain is so worth it after that.
