16 June 2001 - Milton Keynes, England, UK Concert Review 17 June 2001
how can anyone not love these guys?

A review by Emma / madasaspoon@hotmail.com

1 wild night, Raise your hands, you give love a bad name, in these arms, its my life, born to be my baby, bed of roses, i got the girl, captain crash and the beauty queen from mars, just older, wild in the streets, blaze of glory, lay your hands on me, keep the faith, bad medicine
encore 1: I'll be there for you, say it isn't so, sleep when I'm dead, tequila, twist and shout
encore 2: someday I'll be saturday night, wanted dead or alive
encore 3: living on a prayer

This was my first ever BJ show, and if I have anything to do with it, definitely NOT the last! I couldn't see the guys in person all the time, since I'm only short and a load of tall people decided they were going to stand in front of me, but it was still amazing! If I stood on tiptoe I could just about see Daves hair (his face was in there somewhere!) and when Jon moved round to the sides I could see him. However I caught at least a glimpse of the whole band. The big display screens were very useful!
They kicked off with one wild night, with the guys coming down in an elevator with CCTV or something in there with them. There were a load of great songs to sing along to, Raise your Hands and Bad Name coming to mind. I don't think anyone in the audience was expecting Jon to suddenly launch into Living on a Prayer (unaccompanied), after the guys were all getting ready to go, but all of the 65 thousand people soon caught on and sang along, at which point Jon started again with the whole band playing etc. The guys were clearly enjoying themselves, which really made the show, and Jon kept us amused with joking comments. A fab show, and I will definitely be back as soon as I can!
Also, I know everyone has said this, but milton keynes, please sort yourselves out! The organisation was TERRIBLE!
