An amazing experience!
After one Wembley Arena show and two Wembley Stadium's, I was excited about seeing Bon Jovi in another country! I travelled up from Dorset with a mate to see the band. Only a week earlier I had seen a truly fantastic gig by AC/DC at Milton Keynes and knew that would take a lot of beating!
The first thing to say is that Cardiff is a great place! The shopping centre is well cool and I will be coming back one day for that! The second thing to say is that the Cardiff girls are the best we'd ever seen!!! Top quality!!
We arrived at the stadium early and were seated up in the heavens but later moved pitchside. It is the best stadium I have ever been to!
The fact the roof was closed made the whole atmosphere better I think. Delirious? were a good support band and gave us some nice riffs. I am a fan of Matchbox 20 anyway and they didn't let me down with a great performance.
It is a shame though that so many people talked right through both bands sets instead of giving them the respect they deserved...maybe they should just arrive later if they don't wish to listen to support bands?
The performance of Bon Jovi will be fully told elsewhere but suffice to say they were at least as good as I'd ever seen them before. The stage set and entrance were very imaginative! I have been to the top of the Empire State Building but BJ weren't there when I went!!
The atmosphere was ELECTRIC and the band surely picked up on that. I would like to know the official attendance but whatever it was, it sounded like loads more!!
The set list was just about perfect. They didn't perform anything I didn't like. A shame that they still wont play Blood ON Blood though!!
Summing up: probably the best live band in the world. I just hope that the media report the facts rather than take cheap shots like they usually do!
