19 June 2001 - Paris, France Concert Review 22 June 2001
Rock'N'Roll for Religion

A review by Aurélien / ponpon17@hotmail.com

Hi all!

Here's the setlist of that unbelievable show:

One Wild Night / Raise Your Hands / You Give Love A Bad Name / In These Arms / It's My Life / Born To Be My Baby / Always / I Got The Girl / Just Older / Wild In The Streets / Blaze Of Glory / Lay Your Hands On Me / I'll Sleep When I'm Dead / Bad Medicine (Shout)

Encore 1: These Days / Someday I'll Be Saturday Night / Keep The Faith (Sympathy For The Devil)
Encore 2: Wanted Dead Or Alive / Livin' On A Prayer
Encore 3: Tequila (Extended Version) / Twist And Shout

Well, we all know this band rules the world when it comes to Rock'N'Roll... But on this night, they just ended discouraging any challenging band.

I was in Paris Bercy the last time they came around and it was awesome. But maaaaaan did they rock the place inside out this time. I went with a friend of mine who's far from being a BJ fan... Even though he didn't know half of the songs, he admitted afterwards he had never seen such an atmosphere between a band and its crowd, and he had a great time.

Great entry with the elevator, the giant screen, and OWN. They were just giving all they had for 2h30 and the crowd was simply the best they could get and got to sing a lot.
They seemed so surprised and happy that at last a French crowd could sing so much and so loud. Just as if they finally made their breakthrough here.

Jon was all over the place, Richie was insane and happy, Tico so cool, David full of energy, even Hugh, who usually just stands there, was making a few moves and smiled from time to time. He seems like a fun guy, he deserves a real place in this band.

The set-list just had Always as the one and only ballad, the rest was upbeat all the way (as if they knew what I wanted:o)). It was so great to hear Raise your hands, In these arms or Wild in The Streets.

Before playing Bad name, Jon did his thing about Love and Rock'N'Roll being his religion... Well, all I can say after this night is that Bon Jovi (as a band) is the one and only God to pray!!!!!!!!

Keep The Faith!!!

Aurélien
