22 June 2001 - Stuttgart, Germany Concert Review |

Striiike - I believe again.
Yes. That is exactly what we needed. This was my second concert after Cologne, but was it really different. Cologne was not good. It was one of the worst concerts I have ever seen. I had always this feeling, that it was a naked routine thing for the band. No surprise, no esprit. Sambora seemed to be sick...It would have been ok for other bands, but it was not ok for BJ.
But Stuttgart...what happened during those two days?
The sound was excellent (but not load enough), the audience was much louder than in Cologne and the band was full of motivation. It was one big party under a clear sky and the 65.000 - 70.000 were celebrating the band. And they seemed to be impressed. At the end of Captain Crush Jon began to smile, because the whole audience was really "with him". He said, that this was unbelievable. The 2.35 h party ended not with Tequila/Twist (I think it was on the list, but Jon suddenly changed his mind/guitar), but with a fantastic version of "I^ll be there for you".
