29 June 2001 - Vienna, Austria Concert Review 1 July 2001
The wildest night of my life

A review by Twinkle Bell / angie1@cyberbabies.com

Wow!!It was the best show I've ever seen.I was very excited and I came a little bit earlier,at about 5.30 pm so I had to wait for 3 hours to see them.I had the seats for forum and I thought I won't see anything but I was very suprised cause I saw the stage perfectly fine.In the mean time band called Short people came out and play and,to tell you the truth, they weren't good, they were disaster actually!!But never mind, they played great songs, rock classics. And at about 7.15 pm Gotthard came out and although I didn't know for that band before I was really impressed by the performance.Great songs and great singer but you can really hear how he imitates Jon and Steven Tyler. When they finished, tehnical stuff prepaired scene and it looked like Empire State Building with big screen on the "first floor".And at 8.30 we saw the band,Bon Jovi of course, arriving to the stage in an elevator.Jon was waving to us and they were all smiling!!I started shaking and when we saw them oming out on the stage,me and my friend jumped and started screaming and then I looked around myself and everyone was sitting!!!I couldn't believe it!So we went down to some kind of fence where everybody was standing and the stupid security told us to go to the seats cause we're touching the fence.I still don't get it.Why shouldn't I touch the fence. So they played the Crush version of One wild night, and it sounded great and the most important thing is that Jon was able to sing!!!!Then they played Raise your hands and the crowd was still sitting but I really enjoyed during that song cause at least all of us raised our hands. You give live a bad name wormed up the crowd a little bit and then almost everyone stood up.In these arms was sooooooo beautiful,it was the first time I cried...Everybody had lights and it was great moment.Born to be my baby didn't get so much of attention and again, everybody was sitting and I was pissed of so I hoped they'll play It's my life cause I knew people like that song. But they played Always. And it was something!!!Again everyone had lights and again,I cried(I know,I'm such pussy, but what can I do when I'm sentimental) cause it was wonderful, the whole crowd sang with them...So beautiful song...And then it was turn for Crush songs-Capt.Crash,I got the girl and Just older-it sounded great and we all danced and sang with them.Just older was touchy cause it seemed like Jon was talking to Richie, you know the "standing here shoulder to shoulder" part...And at least It's my life!!!!!!I don't like that song very much because I think it's so comercial but it was a great moment!45000 people sang along with Jon,everyone was on their feet,I couldn't hear the band how loud we were!!!JUST GREAT!The climax of the night. And then wild in the streets-I guess half of the stadium didn't know that song but the real fans sang with them and it was special. You wouldn't believe me,when they started Blaze,I didn't know which song is it.Not because it was bad preformed,it was perfect but I was delirious so I just couldn't thinkAnd then I realized it's one of my fav songs and it was really great performed,I totally enjoyed.Lay you hands on me was specially great!!The lights were of and then they showed only Tico.He played the whole intro with our help,we were singing/screming the "hey" part. The whole song sounded perfect and every once in a while there were fireworks.I'll sleep when I'm dead was usually, good, nothing special. Now Bad medicine was special!!!Jon asked "Is there a doctor in a house?" and we all screamed "Yes!!!!!!" like we were all doctors. It's little bit stupid cause he's saying it on every concert. In the end of the song he screamed,he just "letted his voice out",don't know how to describe it but it was,to me,the happiest moment of the concert because then I realized he's totally healthy.Shout was great too.Someday I'll be sat night was perfect and crowd was screaming just like when they played It's my life.Keep the faith was fantastic,Richie had two solos and I don't know which one was better but every time we yelled "faith" there were these great fireworks!!Say it isn't so was very cute performed, great happy song but Jon sang it a little bit lower then usually.I totally understand him. Then they played Wanted.I was too happycause it's my fav song.Rich and Jon took guitars and played wonderful intro and the crowd was singing first part of the son,I guess Jon needed a brake. It sounded just perfect.Livin on a prayer started acoustic and then normal and the crowd was relly delirious,we were all singing. And then Jon said:"Thank you, good night!"I knew it's not over and nobody left the stadium,we were yelling:"We want more!"Jon smiled and he just "raised his hands" and turned around to the band.Rich gave him a guitar and they played Tequila and Twist and shout. They played it soooo good and the crowd was sooooo great, like those are their songs. And they finished. They left. And the best night of my life was over.I think I was one of the happiest persons in the world at the moment. The trip from Croatia was worth it and I have to go to at least one more Bon Jovi concert cause it's just so great atmosphere, you have to feel it to know what I'm talkin' about.

Well,Jovi fans,I hope all of you will at least once experience the feeling I had before, during and after the concert. It's worth of life.
