29 June 2001 - Vienna, Austria Concert Review 1 July 2001
WHAT A NIGHT!

A review by Kristina / kristinabj@hotmail.com

First of all I want to thank BWJBJ. The wirstband-thing worked perfectly although nobody knew anything until 3 p.m. Then I want to thank the two guys of the crew (I don't know their names) for answering all my questions about Jon's voice and the wristbands and everything.

We arrived at the fanclub-entrance at 10 a.m. Until 4.30 p.m. we sat around, talked, had fun, ate ice-cream ... it was really great. Then, at 4.30 p.m. we got the wristbands and could get into the pit. The first band was 'Short People'. Although everyone on this board didn't like them, I liked them. But 'Gotthard', of course, were better. They really made the crowd wild.

Then, until 20.30 p.m. BON JOVI got on the stage. The first song was 'One Wild Night', and the crowd was completely wild from the first second to the last. All the great songs, like 'Raise your hands', 'Always' or 'Bad Medicine' followed. When they started 'Wanted', we sang the first verse alone. And while Jon was talking during 'Lay your hands on me', the crowd continued singing Lay your hands on me. It sounded great. 'Tequila' was really great too and Jon was talking about 'applesnaps' (it sounded so cute).

It seemed that the band was in a really good mood including Jon. He was jumping around, smiling all the time, making fun. Fortunately his voice was okay too. But sometimes he really sang quiet.

The fireworks and the stage were great too. It nearly was a perfect show with a wild crowd and a wild band.

Thank you, Jon, Richie, Tico, Dave and Hugh, and see you again in 2002.
