Note the 'Exclusive license from Captain Kidd Corp' on everything - the new contract is not a record deal, it's distribution. There are likely a lot of nice clauses that allow some continuity - best ofs with back catalogue etc but at this point the record company likely have very little sway. You don't sign a licensing deal with a right of rejection clause. In other words - it's not about the contract.

That doesn't mean it isn't about business though. Jon knows the value of the band as a brand and you can't have a rock band without a guitarist and you can't include the new boy without including Hugh.

Also: he has referred to it as I, a lot, in this promo - but he's had some level of backlash on social media every time. He may be blind to it but Azoff and co certainly aren't.

Just sayin'.

To be honest, I'd rather hear from Dave/Tico and definitely Phil for a new perspective. Trotting Jon out using the same soundbites get really tiring really quickly.

This is true... you get more info at of the other guys because Jon is just way too polished... In his defense, he gets asked the same dumb questions over and over again... if I have to hear about his ****ing marriage one more time, I'm going to lose it...

I agree -- it's more likely logistical than contractual. And it isn't as though Jon feels he can publicly show off Shanks as his new guitarist!
