Default Celebrating Slippery When Wet 30: rare stuff from personal archive

Today somebody mentioned on FB that the most famous Bon Jovi album "Slippery When Wet" is 30 years old today, August 18th 2016! Its the record that turned me into the band Bon Jovi [Jon, Richie, David, Alec, Tico] so it's time for celebration!

I was an active fan from 1986 to 1993 and nowdays still collect various things from the 80s. Have obtained many and wanna share them with you, fellow fans!

Here's the deal: during the fall of 2016 I'll be posting rare documents from 1986, related to SWW, every couple of weeks here on this thread for your viewing / reading pleasure. Something that most of you may not have seen. There will be ten parts, two for each month.

..SO, Lets go....!

Celebrating SWW30: RARE STUFF #01

This is Tico, interviewed by Modern Drummer in the summer of 1986.

Wow, thank you. Great read, first time I've ever read Tico commenting on his songwriting for Secret Dreams. Interesting that he states that he wrote/worked on parts of Only Lonely and She Don't Know Me.

Also interesting that he states that "the next album" (Slippery) would be even more of a contribution album in terms of writing than the first two, as neither him or David co-wrote anything on SWW and in Ticos case never again.

Looking forward to more stuff like this

Awesome!!! What are the best quality demos available?

Bonjovi90, any chance that Damned had cleaned them up?

I had cleaned them up some years ago - at least the basement tapes and the final production demos. Thought Damned TV and I have been discussing re-doing the entire SWW demo catalogue.

This is a real treat for me. Just revisiting the 84 tour trying to sort dates out. I love reading the old stuff. Thanks

Not to turn this into another one of those threads but Bon Jovi back then was Jon Richie Dave Tico and Alec... Today it's Jon, Billy, and John...That's the difference...
