Default Celebrating Slippery When Wet 30: rare stuff from personal archive

Great read, thanks.

Edit: Just an observation but I love the 80's Kramers Richie used to play. They look badass and sound ****ing amazing too!

I used to own a Jersey Star reissue and it was fantastic. And it looked great too.

Celebrating SWW30: RARE STUFF #08 - December 8th, 1986 Jäähalli (Ice Hall): Helsinki, FINLAND Article & pictures

Today, thirty years ago, on December 8th 1986 Bon Jovi finished their Slippery When Wet european tour in Helsinki, Finland. They played in Jäähalli ("Ice Hall") for a crowd of 8000. In my opinion this is *the show* and wish I'd been there, but was way too young and just starting with the band. These pictures are from my self-made fan book, which compiles all the Jovi shows in Finland between 1985-1993: articles, amateur pictures and memories. First there's an article from a former finnish pop music magazine "Suosikki" and then few pages of "official pictures" from the press conference, backstage & show released in different magazines. Enjoy!

Celebrating SWW30: RARE STUFF #09 - The Cincinnati Gardens, USA March 19th 1987 youtube & spring 1987 interviews with the band.

Ok here we go again! One part still coming after this.

TODAY exactly 30 years ago, on March 19th 1987, Bon Jovi played in Cincinnati and this show was broadcast partially on radio. Jon's voice wasnt too shot yet and band were on top of their game, performing high energy & hungry set. This show must be one of the most bootlegged Jovi shows ever, being soundboard recording and including their biggest hits! Only downside is the lack of few songs, mainly from the beginning. However this is as good as it gets considering SWW-tour and hopefully we will get a proper official release of the show one day.

This must be the best source out there (however the song order is changed a bit):

To celebrate the anniversary of this very show, I dug some old interviews for your reading pleasure! On the spring of 1987 Bon Jovi were the biggest name in USA and elsewhere. Various magazines ran special issues on them and one of those was legendary "Metal Edge" with editor Geri Miller. Here you'll find interesting interviews with every member of the band from the "A Metal Edge Special - Bon Jovi" magazine.

Instructions: Listen to the show & read the interviews!

ENJOY!!

Thank you so much! It's so generous of you to take the time to post these! I've enjoyed every one of them and look forward to the last installment, although I hate to see the series end.

You rock, rokuli!

I love how Jon says that he hates being a sex symbol and then plays the part anyway.
