Are you every day performing your best in your own job?

Between black & white are lots of shades of grey you know.
And so there's another one who just doesn't get it. There's no excuse for charging 150 dollars for a ticket, being in the entertainment industry and yet the only one you seem to want to be entertaining is yourself. No, I am not at my best at my job every day, yet when I work I do the job. Jon didn't.

Please tell me what shades of grey I missed regarding this show. Why is it so hard to understand for some fans that Bon Jovi, and especially Jon, often have their "We are doing it for ourselves" moments instead of a "We are doing it for the people who pay to see us" moment?

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

They're in denial. They think that every Bon Jovi show should be so kick ass that it will blow your brains out. But this one wasn't. Plain and simple.

Seb and Brian and Terri have reported honestly. It was pretty much a mess of a show. If you had never seen a show you would probably thought it was fine - but it was a real ***** you* to the longtime fans.

As Brian said (somewhere) the most enjoyable part was meeting up with everyone.

For the people thinking the criticism is harsh, just liken it to supporting your football team. If they play like shit, you will moan and slag them off and tell anyone who will listen how to improve it, and then we will be back at the next game cheering them on.
The same applies here, we know Jovi can perform better but they lost a crucial
home game last night! We don't want to see them fail, we want to see them be the best live band they can be and currently they are falling short mostly setlist wise, before yesterday the performances couldn't much be faulted. The main set as a whole is fine- I want to hear the hits every time regardless, but fillers like Crash and LH should be swapped for different songs every night. Literally a couple of songs can sway a setlist- see the last night at The O2 for that.
BJ lost the last game and picked up an injury, but hopefully will be back stronger for the next match, and the fans will cheer them on all the way.

And that ladies and gentlemen is stretching an analogy to breaking point

They don't give a shit, most fans live in a dreamworld, a sickening denial world were it's all great and will continue giving money to the band.
If I'd been there, as I for one have self-respect, wouldn't give them a dime anymore. It's just not acceptable, they make a lot of ****ing money. And not hard earned also.

This band is capable of putting on the best Rock n roll show on earth!!!

But when they are off it's almost like the worst show, not in terms of sound, because the majority of it sounds fine, but when they are off it's just boring as hell.....

Has any one here actually put on a show

It doesnt always go to plan especially as it involves humans who arent perfect.... Its not fair on the fans but its life , there are ups and downs...

I hope whatever went on with Richie is just a temporary issue and not serious like previously. It was a bad night... what do you want them to do ?

I do feel sorry for those who were hoping to get rare songs , it is disappointing and for this reason I wish JBJ wouldnt promise them in the first place... Like someone said if it had been your first gig of this tour you would have been happy.... its not good to go to many times, you end up feeling let down.....

yeah, I play in a few bands (original and covers) and I know that it's tough and that mistakes can and do happen. But it's one thing to consistently screw up in a show and to make a few mistakes here and there and laugh about it. But when Jon is not on, or the band as a whole is not on, the sound might be fine sonically but it's just boring to see and hear....... at the prices, the band owes some effort to the fans that paid to be there. Not just about set list though, its' mainly the performance.....
