I can understand the point of Rdkopper, but at the end of the day, Jon does not seem to want it as a songwriting partner. David is a great co-writer and composer, some songs from Stranger and Undiscovered are the test, but of course, we are talking about albums that are not successful in Jon's eyes.

I agree, he's a good writer. I don't want this to come across like I'm knocking the guy. I don't think it's necessary to slam Jon for not thinking those examples were successful, because they weren't. Not by a long shot.

I agree on this one.

At the end of the day, if Jon thinks him and David don't work together when it comes to writing, it means they don't work, because that's his band and at the end of the day Jon is the one we praise or knock based on the quality of the output.

Although I do partially agree that Heathens by 21 Pilots does not belong in the rock category by any stretch of the imagination.
I am not showing this because I want to Jovi have grammy nomination, its useless award like oscar, but to show what is rock music today and I dont agree that those songs are better than THINFS!
No one here is showing any arguments about Jovi is pop rock or edge pop, so I stop argue with couple of you,I support the band,I like THINFS album, its pure rock for me and I salute you and wish you the best!

That his last two albums (THINFS and WAN) are not considered for some nomination, is another symptom of the loss of popularity of this band.

Sorry, my english is not very good.

Okay, they are not the favorites, but if the new single had called the attention (cause a stir), there would be a nomination. Already happened with the previous singles. Anyway, it does not matter.

Do me a favor before YOU get all testy... go back and read my initial statement, then your reply, and lets start this discussion all over again...

Someone stated that just because Phil's a monster on guitar, doesn't mean that he'd be a great guitar writer for Jon / Bon Jovi songs and I just added more of the same using the Dave analogy of him having proven track record with his SOLO work, yet not a writer with Jon / Bon Jovi...

You're the one who went off on a tangent of him not having a proven track record... And basically discredited everything he's ever done... No shit you need chemistry as writers, that's common sense... And probably the reason why Dave's not involved...
