There's no way in hell they'd PROMISE Richie would be there after the last two tours. Naming a tour Bon Jovi Featuring Richie Sambora is like guaranteeing he would be there. It would be more like Bon Jovi Featuring Guitarist Roulette--he might be there; he might not. Buy your tickets and take whatever guitarist you get.

Shame this isn't the majority in the realms of Bon Jovi fans. It's been most disappointing to see so-called fans of the band take sides and snipe at the other. Here too, there are those members who blow smoke up Richie's arse with whatever drunken mess of a solo he makes and those rabid Jon fans who'll defend even his worst pitiful singing attempts.

And yet in the middle, I stand confused as a fan of the band. Furious at the way Richie left, but still supportive of his solo projects, still supportive of the band and it confuses me that some people will seemingly just cast aside 20+ years of supporting a band to just pick the side of whoever they fancy the most. These past few years on the whole Bon Jovi fans have been an embarrassment and the damage is done- if/when Richie ever does return the needle will still be there.

You've quoted that airport comment several times, so it must really have hit a nerve! It was a soundbyte for the camera, for Pete's sake. It's pretty obvious in the video, just from the way he exaggerated "exORRRbitant", that it was purely for dramatic effect. Besides, if money was the only motive that would entice Richie to rejoin the band, it probably would have been sufficient to keep him touring in the first place.

But if money is Richie's only interest, I agree that it's probably safe to say Jon wouldn't kowtow to that. (On the bright side, if it does happen, I guess that means we can eliminate $$$ as the catalyst, doesn't it?)

If it happens, I'd prefer they do it for themselves and their music. The fans would benefit far more, IMO.

You are correct we don't know if they have had a conversation but the interview with Jon in 2015 he said no one has heard from him since... - Maybe since then??

Yes - that hit me hard.... Richie has said some arrogant sounding things since he left and I never expected that from him. I don't think it was a sound bite - I think it was an off the fly (which we often regret) response to a question he was tired of hearing. It felt somehow final after all the maybe's. I don't think he will be back - at least not any time soon.

It would be nice to think that someday it's for the music - but I'm cynical and think it would be a financial motivator if they ever do reunite. "Reunions" often result in very big paydays for a lot of people.

I've always heard that Mick and Keith can't even stand to be in the same room together when they're not on stage. The Eagles said they'd get back together when hell froze over, hence the "Hell Freezes Over" reunion tour. No one seems to complain that the Rolling Stones and Eagles tour/toured for financial reasons. Work is work, I suppose. I guess sometimes it's too much to expect people to do their job and to love it too.

ETA: Of course, I suppose "The Exorbitant Amount of Money Tour" would probably be the most appropriately named tour in the history of the universe, especially to the ticket buyers.

At approximately 4:38 Central on Hair Nation, the DJ said that the "rumors were getting stronger" that even that even though Richie did not play on This House Is Not for Sale, he would be on the tour. Also, the album is coming out in May.

Well, it would be for the best as of now I suppose. He could finish his own album, so he'd have that out of his system, and if they were to make another band album with Richie, there'd be plenty of time to write together.

the radio host is trustworthy or just joking around to get some more listeners?? in this day and age it will be difficult to keep sth like that a secret unless really try to keep it that way..
imo jon wants to get the album out and project it to as much people as possible and maybe richies comeback, the media attention and bjs credibiity (touring with the original guitarist)are some factors..
i hope there is truth to the rumour and i can see jon want to resolve the situation sooner or later but it seems very fake that richie will come back to an album he didnt wrote while his limited contribution obviously was one of the reasons of his departure.. so i ll give it 10% to be actually truth..
iiiiif richie comes back he will be in the record, maybe by playing only 5-6 solos and some backing vocals but it will be a travesty to come back and to have to promote new album and tour without being a part of the songwriting

The DJ has never blatantly lied about anything before. He talked about rumors of a Motley Crue farewell tour before it happened. I don't know what his connections are or what his sources are. He hasn't said.

It seems really far fetched to me though. I can't imagine why Jon, Tico, and Dave would trust Richie after the last two tours and I can't imagine why Richie would WANT to tour for album he had nothing to do with unless it really is just for money. But, money is quite a motivational force for most people.
