Jon Bon Jovi says Richie Sambora chapter of the band is now closed after guitarist's sudden departure. http://bbc.in/2cMyZ0h

New interview concerning Richie and "back in the band". If this is somewhere else, sorry I missed it but this sounds like Richie and Jon are still on different sides of the coin as far as never say never goes for the moment.

Interesting that Jon does address that Richie has his "demons" - think most people knew that for some time anyway but first time Jon has, to my memory, said that since this started. David and Tico mentioned his "health" way back when.

It looks at this moment that Richie won't ever return.

Things can change, but clearly Jon, Tico and David are still angry about Richie not turning-up for a show, and completing the WAN Tour.

Remember, Tico, David and Jon have Children as well. So I don't really accept Richie's explanation about spending time with his Daughter, for leaving on the WAN Tour as all the band members miss their families when touring.

Clearly, Richie left because of creative difficulties with Jon. Jon isn't the Jon which perhaps Richie wants him to be vocally or musically, but remember Richie was involved writing Crush, Bounce, HAND, LH, TC and WAN with Jon and others. So Richie was involved with the musical direction in someway that Bon Jovi have had since Crush.

Of course Jon isn't a saint, I don't blame Jon or Richie. Richie wanted out, I respect that and wish him well as a solo artist.

But I'm hoping everyone can be civil so that Richie can return when Bon Jovi call it a day, for the last tour, and with Alec Such hopefully, as that is the time I can see Richie returning, unless Richie, Jon, Tico and David work things out before this time eventually comes.

Richie is done forever.... This isn't Guns and Roses or Aerosmith... It's always been the JBJ show and where Jon is today with the band, Richie is no longer needed...

Making mushy music, unable to sing and worried about being able to sell venues.

Yep, he's thriving without Richie.

My point as to why Richie is no longer needed... He can't fix any of that...

BTY, the music would be exactly the same... I think BB and THINFS is some of the best stuff we've heard post 2K... and Jon is not worried about selling out venues... or at least those words were never spoken...

Under these criteria, it's been the same Richie the past few albums/tours.

imo jon prefers the post richie bj era, richie could be great but also a pain in the ass many times so in many ways jon must be relieved , they are totally different personalities so its understandable, richie has to find himself and jon must realise without richie bj are not a true band, just 3 remaining members...

whats sounds upsetting to me is the whole football thingy...jon a year back said he ll never try again, he is over it and sounded more heartbroken about it thaan anything else...now he said you never know, it didnt happen, the timing wasnt right or sth to that effect, its his life as he has mentioned a time or 2 but still after his daughter incident and richie not owning a football thing should be a joke, i dont get it..

in a way i m a bit sad we are stuck here hoping for a happy ending while the 2 guys involved dont have the balls to talk in person

Hell yes. Richie was a pain in the ass for Jon as he was completely opposite to band's current direction and I doubt that the new album is any different than previous albums. Plus Richie was disappointed -based on his sayings at least- for touring every 2 years.
