Default Pets

It's been quite a while since we had a thread to post pictures of our pets, so here's one.

This is my dog Snip, he's a Border Collie and nearly 4.

I only have one cat left. My 16 year old Tuxedo cat had to be put to sleep as she had lymphoma It was only a few weeks ago and there is still a small balck and white ghost in the house.

Sorry to hear that Kathleen, my first dog Taffy died about 4 years ago, I was only 6 when I got him and he died when he was 10. To me it's directly comparable to losing any family member or friend, not just an animal but a member of the family.

Thanks folks - it been a few weeks and I can talk about it now. I didn't even want to talk about it at first. She was a full member of the family and it really is a loss. My daughter wants to get another cat but the cat that is left is 8 years and I think I'll let her be "Queen Cat" for awhile

If it's not too difficult to talk about, could you tell me what her symptoms were and how the vets came to that diagnosis? I have a sick kitty that has had every test that can be done on a cat barring exploratory surgery.

This is my dog Banjo as a puppy. I don't have many pics of my other animals uploaded right now. I'll work on that.

That's the cutest puppy Becky. I've seen your avatar but I didn't know it was a real dog It looks like a stuffed toy.

My cat was losing weight even though she was eating just fine so I brought her in for a checkup. The vet thought she felt a lump in her abdomen and did some x-rays. From what I understand the lymph glands in an older cat are prone to cancer. It showed up on the x-ray unfortunately. She gave her some prednisone (same stuff I take for my allergies sometimes) and the cat really did well for another 6 weeks. Then she got so uncomfortable that she couldn't jump up on anything anymore and could hardly climb upstairs. That's when I said enough was enough.
Her first symptom was weight loss though and some vomiting later on, really nothing else.
