Track Rankings 2012 - Bon Jovi
Sorry for the delay guys. Had a busy day yesterday!
From country influenced to pure hard rock, we are going back to where it all began with the debut. It's the shortest album in the Jovi catalogue with just 9 songs, and features the only song on a studio album not written by any band members. It finished 10th (second last) in the album rankings, and here is how we ranked it back in 2008; 01. Runaway [131] 02. Shot Through The Heart [108] 03. Roulette [91] 04. She Don’t Know Me [80] 05. Breakout [67] 06. Love Lies [64] 07. Burning For Love [63] 08. Get Ready [50] 09. Come Back [45] Just a few reminders... if you are going to give a song 0, make sure you still list it. Otherwise I wont know if you purposely left it off or just forgot to. Also, double check you have listed all songs, especially if you are copying and pasting the list from someone else's post in the thread. The maximum score this round is 9. ------------------------------------------------------ 2012 Rankings |
9pt] Roulette
8pt] Love Lies 7pt] Get Ready 6pt] She Don't Know Me 5pt] Burning For Love 4pt] Shot Through The Heart 3pt] Runaway 2pt] Breakout 1pt] Come Back Unfortunately this is my least favourite album by the band. Having said that, I enjoy the top four songs Ive listed. The next 3 are ok, and the bottom 2 I rarely listen to. I know the term 'over rated' has been used to death so far during track rankings, but I have to give my vote to Runaway as one of the more over rated songs by fans. I dont know if Im just sick of it or if I simply just dislike it, but I find myself rarely listening to it. I do love the intro keyboard riff (who doesnt!). Roulette is and forever will be the greatest song on the album. Love Lies is also wonderful, and Get Ready is one of the first party/fun songs by the band - and I quite like it. |
09) Shot Through The Heart (killer track live back then! - )
08) Love Lies 07) Runaway 06) Roulette 05) Burning For Love 04) Breakout 03) Come Back 02) She Don't Know Me 01) Get Ready An album I totally loved when I first listened to it, then it fell flat on me for a while. I recently picked it up again and really enjoyed some tracks, others I couldn't relate to at all anymore. Get Ready is the song I always skip here, I can enjoy it live, but it just sounds so horrible in the album version to me. The top 4 songs I really enjoy listening to (though I might be one of a very few who prefer the piano driven Runaway-2000 version over the original most of time), the next 2 tracks are ok, the last 3 I usually don't pay much attention to. Overall a good album and I still like the production sound on it, unlike on 7800° Fahrenheit. |
9pts - Runaway
8pts - Shot Through The Heart 7pts - She Don't Know Me 6pts - Love Lies 5pts - Roulette 4pts - Come Back 3pts - Breakout 2pts - Get Ready 1pt - Burning For Love |
9 Runaway
8 Shot Through The Heart 7 Come Back 6 Burning For Love 5 Breakout 4 She Don’t Know Me 3 Roulette 2 Get Ready 1 Love Lies Gem of an album. Overlooked by new-era fans who think that WSYCGH, TYFLM and TWASA are acceptable songs released by the same band who released the above!!! |

I'm sure my age is an aspect that some of the 80s fanboys will be picking at, but who cares. |
Not an album I listen to very often, although Runaway is on any BJ playlist I ever listen to. A little hard to rate these tracks so I have had to listen to the album a few times to judge. I normally only hear most of these as a random shuffle on my iplayer while out running.
9 - Runaway 8 - Roulette 7 - Love Lies 6 - Shot Through The Heart 5 - She Don't Know Me 4 - Come Back 3 - Get Ready 2 - Breakout 1 - Burning For Love The outstanding track for me being "Runaway" this was the first BJ song that got me interested way back in 84. I was a young teenager just started high school and this album was the only tape I had for my walkman(c). I think I wore the tape out just constantly rewinding and playing the one song.:( As for the rest there is nothing that stands out for me. If I'm honest it's a pretty poor album. Good songs to listen to now and then with just a hint of what was to come in the future. |
