It's good to see that they pull out some other songs, some rare songs. And I Got The Girl is exactly the kind of song Jon is most capable of singing.
Except for the chorus unfortunately, unless he resorts to shouting some of the notes, as he's done in the 2nd chorus here. But yeah, considering the verses it's probably one of the easiest songs for him, much easier then when they recorded it, since it's sung so deep

And considerung the "let 'em talk" line - isn't that Jon on the studio recording and Richie just took the part live?

Totally agree... Jon's going to play songs that he could sing... I'd rather him sing something that sounds somewhat correct then him butchering some classic...

On a side note, maybe there was a reason for him playing that... Not to start any rumors but maybe his daughter got engaged or something!!!! Or maybe he just had that daughter moment because she was there... That was cool !!! Good for Jon... That one was for him and I'll give it to him...

Part of me believes that this song wasn't one of the 96 songs they rehearsed and this was thrown in last minute for a reason... Just Saying!!!

I like got the girl. It's a fun song. JBJ enjoyed himself and the band seemed happy to play it.

People moan about setlists then moan when set list is changed and then moan again when it's not a song they like.

Preach! I'm not a fan of the song, but I'm happy they added in somewhat of a rarity. Would've been a treat.

It looks like the encore opener is where we are going to get most surprises (Always, Labor of Love, I Got the Girl).

It was a good show, and I had a great time. Started out kind of shaky. Not sure if something wasn't working with Phil's guitar at the beginning of THINFS, but Jon seemed to point and shrug his shoulders like "WTF?". It was good-natured, not a stink eye. And then after the first chorus, the screen went up less than halfway and stopped. Stuck. Jon actually had to duck under the curtain to get out to the front of the stage. Awkward start.

I really enjoyed all the new songs. A shame that people, even in the first few rows, sit down for this. Especially loved Scars On This Guitar. We Don't Run was fantastic. Awesome live song.

Jon's voice ain't what it used to be, and you can notice at the show, but it didn't prevent me from having a great time. I'm sure YouTube will prove me wrong, but he actually seemed to get stronger as the show went on. It's weird, sometimes he's missing notes and shouting, but other times it felt
Iike he nailed parts of Born To Be My Baby and Keep The Faith (or he was helped by playback).

I Got The Girl was a real surprise to open the encore, and a cute moment with his daughter. Jon seemed in a really good mood throughout, maybe because of family there ( and for Phil too). Thrilled that we got Saturday Night in the encore too.

This is just me probably reading way too much into things, but I always like at the end of shows where Jon says "We'll see you next time!" Last night he said "I hope to see you again." I would go see them if you get the chance.

Glad to hear you had a great time!

He used to say that in 2013 (at least near the end of the tour), too, in addition to that awkward "last one (show) in a long time" line. So, while I fear this might be the last tour (and I'll only get to see them *if* they decide to tour Europe next year), I wouldn't read too much into it at this point, considering Jon's talk about "rebirth of the band" and so on...

Stephanie was great. Especially if that was her big stage debut...

I Got The Girl was a cool moment, good for Jon! That's probably why he was in the mood to do Saturday Night.

Let's hope the encores bring more surprises like this and less stuff like BWC.

Yes, I am not a regular poster but have read the forum and know of the constant complaints.

But Wow! Complaints about "I've Got The Girl"??!! I thought it was very touching he did this song and loved hearing about kids growing up so fast. And then Stephanie, his precious daughter, joins him on stage? Priceless!!

She's going to be 24 years old soon. I think it's fantastic she was at the concert and Jon showed how much he loves her. This is why I love him. Not just the music, but who he is as a person, husband and a father.

I will remember that moment on stage a lot longer than hearing any "rare" song.
