Default Bon Jovi Collectibility

From everyone here who should know the answer to this one, although I'm sure it's up to individual opinion...

What do you suppose the collectibility market will be for Bon Jovi items in let's say another 25 years?

I see it's there already since they've proven themselves time and time again as being in this biz for the long haul, but give it another couple of decades and the band will be no longer - what will THAT generation think of Bon Jovi?

Will they desperately want our autographed albums that we've cherished all these years; wear a Bon Jovi t-shirt, listen to stories of concerts that we've been to and wish they'd been there in the 'good ol' days'?

I wonder...

Thoughts?

Michelle

PS: By the way, the brainwashing has begun on my two and a half year old son. Whenever he hears a Bon Jovi song, he runs to me, arms outstretched and says, "Mama, Bon Jovi Dance." I pick him up and we dance around the room Great exercise!

Michelle - good to see that your starting young !!!

As to your question : I think there will be a market , although how big ??? No idea !

My hubby was suprised how young some of those round us at Southampton were and that they knew the words !!! LOL

The students I work with (who are all 20/21) think its real cool I'm off to watch Bon Jovi or other rocky bands (whitesnake, def leppard etc etc ) !!! Last time I bought a CD the 17yr old serving was so impressed with the selection (Bon Jovi & Def Leppard) that he turned to the girl next to him , nudged her and said " look someone with great taste " !!!!

Well well well, my Michelle, you never can tell. But I believe there could be, Livin' On A Prayer, Bad Name and It's My Life aren't gonna be forgotten anytime soon. So fans will still be being created so I guess they'd want our rare stuff.

BTW, your kid sounds cute

I'd still say the vinyl discs, esp the coloured ones.

I'd be intrigued to know how collectible music items are valued these days, in an age where people seem to freely download things via P2P networks and almost expect to get everything for free these days. If they get the widely available stuff for free than I'd assume the jump up in price to rarer stuff to be less than before where people paid for everything.

Great to hear your kid is getting into Jovi - in the womb Lucas seemed to respone to Jovi but at 8 weeks music doesn't seem to be his thing, yet! I just have to make sure he listens to my Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Whitesnake, Poison collection and not his Mum's McFly, Steps, Jive Bunny (I kid you not!), Take That collection!

Default Digital age

Yeah, good point on the digital age thing. I actually think that given the fact that most people download EVERYTHING, the records, picture discs, import cd's, etc., will become collectible in the future. Just look at the price of some LP's these days. Some vinyl records are in the tens of thousands of dollars.

Even Jon Bon Jovi said his kids make him nuts with their ipods because they'll only download a particular song or two off an album. They don't get the album experience.

Hey, I remember "Jive Bunny" - my parents had those CD's - LOL! They probably still listen to them...

If we can invest in something now that we love and enjoy and will still be worth money later - all the better

Happy Collecting Everyone!

Michelle

I collected a load of Jovi stuff from 20 yrs ago... sold some a couple of year back due to lack of storage space... I was shocked they went for double the price they were worth. So another 20 yrs I think the price will increase, I have kept some stuff...
