December Albany, NY 2005 my sister and I are in the front row. Back when Ticketmaster had auctions for best seats. She held up a sign for the encore reading "Jon it's almost Xmas and I've been a very good girl. Please play blood on blood".
Much to our shock he read the sign, you could tell he was processing if it was something he could sing, then read it aloud and asked how good she'd been? and then said they were gonna play an Xmas song first. The band played Run Run Rudolph and then when it was over looked at my sister and said "you want it huh? Ladies and
gentlemen the good girl in the front row has asked for blood on blood....OK merry Xmas young lady!"
Richie then broke into the opening riff...Great memory and still can't believe he did it.
On a side note, most places in the US won't allow signs and will confiscate them at the door. So she wrote it on a pillow case that was folded up in her bag.
