Music Life
July 1995

At the charity concert in Kobe, ,they were supposed to finish playing at 9:00 PM out of consideration for refugees around the stadium. Some of the fans felt the show was too short (2 Hours and 40 minutes), but Bon Jovi made a great effort and showed a stunning performance in the limited time given to them. The rain pouring so heavily stopped suddenly like magic, and even a rainbow appeared in the sky. There was a lot of feeling - sympathy - for the people in Kobe. "please be strong during the recovery" I felt strongly that the members were enjoying playing from their hearts. As a result, the encouraged the enthusiasm of the audience.

By Karoruko Togo: "They are great! I thought again, because they are few foreign musicians who can fill up such a huge stadiumwith people. In the last 2 years, only U2 ('93) and the Rolling Stones ('95) suceeded in playing at Tokyo Dome. Jon Bon Jovi is a star! He is definately cool! When they began to play "Runaway" for encore, two women (maybe office ladies) in front of me jumped up screaming with cheers. There are some old fans who have been with Bon Jovi for more than 10 years. You can be really happy if you have a band which you knew and liked in one period and will like from now on. Bon Jovi has become one of these super band."

>From Fukuoka :

---- I was so shocked when I listened to "Keep the Faith" for the first time....they are cool all the more because they are not swayed by trends.
---- I never have seen such a great show before. I don't know why, but I couldn't help shedding tears listening to "Bed of Roses"
---- It was great! I love Jon's smile!
>From Kobe:
---- They have "love". At the charity concerts in Kobe, I was so touched and couldn't help but cry. Please come again to the recovered Kobe!
---- Because of the earthquake, I didn't feel like listening to music for several months. But when I tried listening to Bon Jovi CD's, I got encouraged and went to see the show. I never expected they would come to this stricken area. Bon Jovi is a source of pep to me!
TIDBITS: Because of Jon's request, the band stayed at a certain hotel in Tokyo. Jon says he really likes the hotel and thinks it's the best in the world - - In the beginning there was no real plan to hold a show in Kobe. But the members wished to help the earthquake victims, "we'll be happy if we can encourage everybody", and their hopes were realized. A hundred people were invited to the concert for free. -- Jon really likes Ramen. He says, "my energy is because of Ramen" he still remembers the restaurant in Osaka where he ate Ramen for the first time. -- Jon went to batting centers and game centers frequently - - When Nori-san was trying to pull one of Jon's chest hairs, it was so painful that he said "can I pull it out by myself? He also said "Is there really anybody who wants to get such a dirty thing?"
