"I wasn't a normal teenager and I didn't hang out with the gang. Instead, I'd hang out at bars, and at 15 I started playing in them. At school the kids would ask, 'What did you do last night? I watched "Dallas."' I'd say, 'Me and Southside Johnny and Bruce Springsteen were playing at the Stone Pony.' Everybody thought I was a strange kid."
