The Livin' On A Prayer rockers, fronted by Jon Bon Jovi, lined up a run of five concert dates in June 2010.

But these have already sold out since tickets went on sale at 10am today, and a further nine shows have been added.

Tickets have been selling at a rate of 18 per second, promoters said, with 23,000 sales in the first two hours.

The band - whose single We Weren't Born To Follow is out now - kick off the residency on Monday June 7 next year.

They are also appearing on The X Factor this Sunday, and on Fearne Cotton's BBC Radio 1 show next Tuesday.

Promoters say the UK dates will be the band's only European dates next year.
