Bon Jovi rocks through old and new tunes |

The Detroit News article
Bon Jovi opened its sold-out concert at the Palace of Auburn Hills on Wednesday with "Blood on Blood," a 22-year-old cut from the "New Jersey" album.
Having outlived several major sea changes in music over the last few decades, the New Jersey four-piece has proved its durability and lasting power to several generations of fans. So "Blood on Blood" -- a song about brotherhood, loyalty and the endurance of friendship -- made perfect sense, and the more than 18,000 fans greeted it with open arms.
The St. Patrick's Day crowd was already plenty pumped up but went into overdrive when hometown hero Kid Rock joined the group halfway through an encore rendition of "Wanted Dead or Alive." For Rock -- who will open for Bon Jovi on several European and New Jersey dates later this year -- it was his third time crashing a Palace performance in the last month.
Bon Jovi bounced between newer material and songs from the band's deep catalog during its 2-hour, 35-minute concert Wednesday, performing on a circular stage positioned at the back of the Palace.
