26 Years later, Tom Cruise is belting it out again, this time as a topless, sleazy rock star in the new musical rock Of Ages.
Fans are given a sneak peek of the 49-year-old in character as Stacee Jaxx, staggering onstage to thrill the crowds with Bon Jovi's Wanted Dead Or Alive.
In an extended trailer for the film, which is released this summer, Tom struts across the stage in just leather trousers.
'I will light this place on fire,' he promises.
The role of Stacee Jaxx is currently played by X Factor alumni Shayne Ward in the West End production at London's Shaftesbury Theatre.
The film, based on the hit stage musical, will also see Cruise sing Foreigner power ballad I Want to Know What Love Is, Joan Jett's I Hate Myself For Loving You, Every Rose Has Its Thorn by Poison, and Styx hit Renegade.
