Bon Jovi Gives Obama a Big Name 10 June 2012
Bloomberg article

Source: Bloomberg

Among the many perks of being a rockstar: you get to fly on Air Force One.

Jon Bon Jovi was spotted getting off the president’s jumbo jet at JFK Airport in New York, among the last to deplane the back stairway. The singer managed to get a picture of the occasion, smiling in front of the plane while someone snapped a shot with his iPhone. The White House had not announced that the celebrity passenger would be on board.

Bon Jovi is scheduled to perform at one of three fundraisers for the president’s campaign tonight, which will also feature former president Bill Clinton. All told, tonight’s events should bring in around $4 million for the campaign.

Five hundred attendees are paying at least $2500 each to see the rock star — and the 44th and 42nd presidents — at a gala at the Waldorf Astoria. But first, about 50 people paying $40,000 each are expected to attend the night’s kick-off event at the home of Marc Lasry, the founder and head of the hedge fund Avenue Capital.

Finally, the two presidents will wrap up their night at a Broadway concert at The New Amsterdam Theater. Seventeen hundred are expected at the “Barack on Broadway” show which is to feature performances by Nina Arianda, Kerry Butler, Norbet Leo Butz, Bobby Cannavale, Stockard Channing, Chuck Cooper, Neil Patrick Harris, Meagn Hilty, Cheyenne Jackson, James Earl Jones, Tony Kushner, Angela Lansbury, Patti LuPone, Audra McDonald, Hattienne Park, Mandy Patinkin, Patrick Wilson and Jeffrey Wright.
