Bon Jovi, at Villa Park, Birmingham |

Birmingham Mail review
Even if date number 45 on the Because We Can world tour would have been ‘just another gig’, Bon Jovi still made the cavernous Villa Park stadium feel intimate and special.
They were never social pioneers like The Rolling Stones, nor as explosive as Kiss.
They didn’t reinvent the guitar like Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi or storm the drums like fellow Midlander John Bonham of Led Zeppelin.
But a lot has happened since Jon Bon Jovi’s first New York stadium gig almost 30 years ago in September 1983.
On Sunday night, after 12 albums, 16 major tours and 2,700 gigs, one of rock’s most enduring stars finally brought BJ to Aston B6 to celebrate.
Addressing the thousands, Jon Bon Jovi said: “It’s great to be back in Birmingham. I ain’t gonna waste a lot of time talking, we’ve got a long way to go tonight. Are you with me on that?”
