Bon Jovi have been forced to postpone tour dates in south America after the hospitalisation of drummer Tico Torres.
The band pulled their scheduled show in Mexico City on Tuesday (September 10) after Torres checked into hospital for an emergency appendectomy.
A statement from frontman Jon Bon Jovi on the band's Facebook page posted today (September 12) says that the band is staying with their drummer until he is recovered, forcing them to pull dates in Santiago, Chile and Buenos Aires, Argentina. The band's website says concerts in those cities have been rescheduled for later this month.
The post begins: "Last night Tico Torres underwent an emergency appendectomy. Thankfully, the operation was a success and Tico is now recovering in the care of his doctors at the American British Cowdray Hospital. We'd like to thank the doctors, nurses and all the hospital staff who helped our friend through this difficult time."
